Don’t Panic Fridays: Doubting yourself

It’s almost the weekend, and we know you want to set aside those business school applications, take a break, and have some fun. So every Friday we make it our mission to give you a reason not to panic.

Today’s topic: Doubting yourself.

Yeah, we’ve been there. You’ve been working so hard on those applications that you’ve hardly had time to think. But then suddenly it hits you: What if I don’t get in anywhere?

Don’t panic.

It’s normal to get discouraged.  It happens to everyone, including the most wildly successful among us.  So in that spirit, we’re inviting you to dust off a proverbial oldie-but-goodie: JK Rowling’s 2008 commencement address at Harvard, in which she discusses the fringe benefits of failure and reminds us that even what might seem like our worst case scenario, is really not so bad.

Whether you’ve seen this before, or are discovering it for the first time, trust us, it’s worth taking the time to watch it.  We’re not big into motivational stuff here, but this one will make you smile.
